COMRADE GEORGE AUCOIN

George, a native of Margaree Harbour, n.s., joined the Royal Canadian Navy in 1949 and served Canada faithfully for 32 years with the Regular and Naval Reserve Forces. A further 12 years was devoted to the Army Reserve and the Cadey Instructors List.

He served on a total of 19 ships, highlighted by two tours during the Korean War and three tours with NATO.

Comrade George has been a member of the Royal Canadian Legion since 1965 and,for his contributions, was presented with the VETERANS AFFAIRS COMMENDATION in February 2005. He currently serves as President, Nova Scotia / Nunavut Command..
