COMRADE DONALD MacCOY
Comrade Don joined the R.C.A.F. in 1953 and trained
in St. Johns and Camp Borden as an A/C Electrician. His first base was
Greenwood where he worked on Lancasters, Neptunes, Otters, Daks and various
helicopters. He then completed a tour
in Bagotville on the CF 100 and was later transferred to Baden Baden, Germany
where he worked on Sabers. Comrade MacCoy also served time in Portage LaPrairie
and Cold Lake and eventually returned to the Maritimes as a Drill Instructor in
Cornwallis. A few years later Comrade
Don returned to Greenwood where he would retire after completing 32 years of
service. Don is a member of the Masonic
Lodge as well as the Kingston Legion.
Comrade Don has served on many committees and has held the position of
Branch Service Officer for the past 3 yrs.
Branch 98 of the Royal Canadian Legion is proud to present Comrade MacCoy
as “VETERAN OF THE MONTH “ for February 2006.
