COMRADE D.J. COUSINEAU

 

Comrade Cousineau started his military career in 1950 by enlisting in the Armoured Corps with the Royal Canadian Dragoons.  In 1951, still an R.C.D., he was sent to Germany with the 27th Brigade.  Soon thereafter in 1952, Comrade Cousineau transferred to R.C.E.M.E. as a vehicle tech and was posted to Camp Hona, and then to Hanover Airforce Base where he would remain until 1953.  Between 1954 and 1959, D.J was posted to the West Coast Workshop at Work Point Barracks where he would complete a tour with UNEF in Egypt.  In 1961 he was transferred to the Yukon for 3 years and was later transferred to R.C.E.M.E Work Shop in Port Credit, Ontario.  Comrade Cousineau retired from the Forces in 1971.  Kingston Legion, Branch 98, is proud to have Comrade D.J. Cousineau as Veteran of the Month for July 2005.
