COMRADE  RALPH  SWINAMER

 

Comrade Ralph has always been a “Valley Boy” calling Windsor, N.S. his home. He joined the R.C.A.F. in 1952 where he would train to become an Air Frame Technician.  He served in Greenwood, North Bay, Cold Lake, 2 (F) Wing France and then back to Greenwood.  Comrade Ralph re-mustered to Flight Engineer in 1969 and accumulated 9000 flying hours between the Argus and Aurora. He finally retired from the Regular Force in 1985 and re-enlisted in the Reserves in 1988 only to retire once again in 1990, serving a total of 37 yrs. Ralph and Marlyn have two sons and two daughters. He joined Branch 98 in 1967 and served as President in 1971.  Comrade Ralph is a “LIFE MEMBER” and was awarded the L.M.SM.  He is still an active member in the Branch and works as the Branch Historian. The Kingston Legion Br.98 is proud to present Comrade Swinamer as “VETERAN OF THE MONTH” for August 2009.
