COMRADE  DOUG McEWAN

Comrade Doug home was Montreal ,he joined the RCAF in 1958 and after completing basic training at St. Jean he moved on to Station Clinton where he trained as a Fighter Control Operator. He was then posted to RCAF Parent, Quebec, followed by a tour at St. Hubert, Detroit Air Defense Sector in Battle Creek Michigan. In 1965 he came back to Canada for a tour at CFS Armstrong and CFS Kamloops. In 1968 Comrade Doug was transferred to CFB North Bay and subsequently commissioned as an Air Weapons Controller. He served in several more bases until he was appointed Commanding Officer of 51 AC&W Squadron at 22 Wing North Bay. In 1992 he moved to Colorado Springs as the Director of inspections for the NORAD Inspector General. In 1994 he returned to Canada and to Greenwood to officially retire in 1995 after 37 years in the RCAF He has now been a member of the Legion and Branch 098 for 16 yrs.
