COMRADE ALBERT (BERT) CARPENTER
Comrade Bert Carpenter joined the RCAF in 1953; upon
completing his basic training in St. Jean he was sent to CFB Borden where he
successfully completed his airframe technician trades training. His postings consisted of RCAF Station
MacDonald, Manitoba, 414 Squadron Baden/Baden Germany, a second tour at RCAF
Station MacDonald, 111 Search and Rescue Squadron, Winnipeg and his final
posting was to RCAF Station Greenwood in the year of Expo 1967. Comrade
Carpenter retired from the RCAF with 30 years of loyal and dedicated services.
During his second posting to RCAF Station MacDonald
he had the good fortune to meet and marry his beautiful wife Hazel (Potyodi);
through their long and loving relationship they have been blessed with three
beautiful daughters.
Comrade Carpenter joined the Royal Canadian Legion
Branch 98 in 1968; during his time with the Legion he has been a member in good
standing, serving as our Legion President in 1972 and was a recipient of the
MSM in 2002. Both he and his wife Hazel
reside in Kingston, Nova Scotia; the Kingston Legion Branch 98 is proud to
present Comrade Carpenter as “Veteran Of The Month” April 2007.
