Comrade Tom Arthurs
Comrade Tom joined the R.C.N. in 1951 and completed his basic
training in Cornwallis, N.S. After recruit training he was off
to Naden, B.C.for basic engineering training. On completion he went
back to Stadacona and awaited draft. Comrade Tom served on
many ships in various parts of the world. He was also involved
in training the Reserves on the Great Lakes. Some of the
shipss he served on were the Wallaceburg, Huron, Quebec,
Whitethroat, Algonquin, Cape Scott, Nipigon and the 6th
Submarine Squadron. In addition, he instructed at the
Engineering Fleet School on various systems such as
mechanical drawing and the helicopter haul down system (bear trap).
Comrade Arthurs retired from the ships planned maintenance office in
the dockyard in 1975.He has served on several committees at Branch
98 and is a Life Member. Branch 98 Kingston Legion is proud to
