ACKER, Everett Vaughn

ACKER, Everett Vaughn - 84, Kingston, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 14, 2007, in Camp Hill Veterans' Memorial Building, QEII, Halifax. Born in Lake Pleasant, Annapolis Co., he was a son of the late Caleb and Dorothy (Burgoyne) Acker. Everett served as a corporal with the R.C.R.'s in the Canadian Army during the Second World War from 1939-1945 in England, France, Holland and Germany. He was the recipient of the Liberation of Holland medal. Everett will be remembered for his strong and everlasting love for his wife, Jean, who was the fire in his soul and the stars in his eyes. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, the former Jean Parker; sons, Vaughn (Jolanta), Annapolis Royal; Doug (Patricia), Cambridge; Troy (Jennifer), Aylesford; grandchildren, Caleb (Bella), Krystal (Chris), Lewis (Tasha), Ashley (Cory), Chase, Sheena; three great-granddaughters; sisters, Kathleen Barteaux, Torbrook; Juanita Mailman, Caledonia, and Marie Whilliams, England. He was predeceased by brother, Calvin. By request, there will be no visitation. The funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, October 18, in Kingston Baptist Church, Rev. Leon Langille officiating. Interment will be in Kingston United Cemetery. Everett's family would like to express their thanks to all of the nurses and support staff who provided such loving care to Everett during his time at Camp Hill. We all felt better knowing he had such caring people with him everyday.
