DOREY, Thomas Theodore
86, of Kingston, passed away peacefully with his wife by side, on
Tuesday, January 13, 2009, in Soldiers
Memorial Hospital,
Middleton. Born in North Kingston, he was a
son of the late Joseph Stanley and Clara (Fisher) Dorey. Thomas was a retired
professional transport driver. He was a veteran of the Second World War,
serving overseas during the conflicts in Holland, Belgium, and Germany. He was
a member of Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 98, Kingston. He is survived by
his wife, the former Marjorie Parker, Kingston; daughter, Teresa-Ann (Bryan)
Gibson, Kentville; sons, David (Deborah) Dorey, Meadowvale; Merrill (Charlotte)
Dorey, Windermere; Steven (Susan) Dorey, Kitchener, Ont.; sister, Hilda Magee,
Kingston; grandchildren, Curtis Gibson, Enfield; Chad Gibson, Winnipeg; Dale
Dorey, P.E.I.; Amanda Dorey, Greenwood; Shawn Dorey, Lunenburg; Tabatha-Lynn
Dorey, Caledonia; Kristen Dorey and Todd Dorey, both of Kitchener, Ont.; and 10
great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife, Ruby Lightfoot and
numerous brothers and sisters. Visitation will be held 7-9 p.m., Friday,
January 16, 2009, in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main Street, (902)
825-3448, beginning with with a Royal Canadian Legion Tribute conducted by
Branch No. 98, Kingston. The funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday,
January 17, 2009 in the Middleton Funeral Home, Rev. Carmen Crockett
officiating. Interment will be in the North Kingston Cemetery. Donations in
