COMRADE RICHARD CESTNICK

CESTNICK, Richard - 65, Greenwood, passed away Monday, October 22, 2007, in Soldiers' Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in New Waterford, he was a son of Erven Cestnick, Smiths Cove, and the late Yvonne (Destobel) Cestnick. Richard retired after 33 years with the Royal Canadian Air Force as an Air Defence Technician. He enjoyed music and playing the accordion. He is survived by his wife, the former Mary MacDonald; daughter, Shauna Modler, Greenwood; sons, Darcy (Tanya), Fort McMurray, Alta.; Michael (Nicole), Windsor; brother, Erven (Catherine) Cestnick, Smiths Cove; grandchildren, Nathaniel, Jason, Alanna, Kimberly, Celsa, Jonathan, MacKenzie, and Jenna. He was predeceased by daughter, Jacqulyn in infancy. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held from 7-9 p.m. today in Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., (902) 825-3448. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, October 26, in Queen of Heaven Chapel, 14 Wing Greenwood, Father Timothy Nelligan officiating. Interment will be in Stella Maris Cemetery, Inverness, at a later date. By request, no flowers. Donations in memory may be made to Canadian Cancer Society.
