COMRADE RALPH SELOVER CLARKE
77, of
Kingston
, passed away Thursday, October 30, 2008, in
Soldiers
Memorial
Hospital
, Middleton. Born in
Toronto
, Ont., he was a son of the late Albert Arnold and Nellie Marguerite (Selover)
Clarke. Ralph retired after 28 years with the Royal Canadian Air Force as an
Aero Engine Technician. He was a life member of the Royal Canadian Legion,
Branch No. 98 Kingston for 36 years and was a recipient of the Meritorious
Service Medal. Ralph enjoyed volunteering at Bingo, which he did for over 30
years and had held various executive positions. He was also a member of the
RCAFA No. 107 Valley Wing,
Greenwood
; member of the
Military
Aviation
Museum
and member of Federal Superannuates National Association. In his early years,
Ralph played and coached volleyball and basketball. He loved to play Euchre
and darts. He was a devoted caring and loving husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, the former Jean Holden; daughter,
Patricia "Patti" Pelley (Rod Bergen), Cold Lake, Alta.; sons, Ken
Clarke, Kingston; Jimmie (Shirley) Clarke; Frank Clarke, both of Edmonton,
Alta.; Brian Clarke, Kingston; brothers, Harry Clarke, Fort Saskatchewan,
Alta.; Howard (Mavis) Clarke, Edmonton, Alta.; grandchildren, Ryan Pelley;
Dustin Clarke and Jesse Clarke. Cremation has taken place. A legion tribute
will be held 2 p.m., Monday, November 3, in Royal Canadian Legion, Branch No.
98 Kingston, assisted by Rev. Leon Langille. A graveside service will be held
2 p.m., Wednesday, November 5, in
Lake John Cemetery
