THEY SHALL GROW NOT OLD AS WE
THAT ARE LEFT GROW OLD;
AGE SHALL NOT WEARY THEM NOR
THE YEARS CONDEMN.
AT THE GOING DOWN OF THE SUN
AND IN THE MORNING,
WE WILL REMEMBER THEM.

COMRADE BILL FIELD
FIELD, Capt. (Ret'd) William Francis
"Bill" - 67, Aylesford, Kings Co. It is with profound sadness that
the family announces the passing of Bill on Friday, November 2, 2007, in

Born in Halifax, he was the son of Marion Field, Musquodoboit Harbour, and the
late William Field Sr. Bill joined the RCAF in February, 1958. He achieved the
rank of warrant officer and in 1981 he was selected to be commissioned from
the ranks and then achieved the rank of captain. During his career he was
stationed at CFB Trenton, Greenwood, Baden, Germany, Borden, Chatham and
Halifax. Bill was dedicated to the military and he and his family enjoyed the
military life immensely. He retired in June, 1988. After his retirement, he
worked as a quality assurance engineer at Garrett Canada in Rexdale, Ont., as
well as IMP Group in Amherst. He again retired in 1998 and moved to the valley
to play golf. Bill was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch No. 98,
Kingston, and was a member of Markland Lodge No. 99, A.F. & A.M.,

Mayflower Chapter No. 2, Order of the Eastern Star, Kingston and Annaval
Chapter No. 31, Order of the Eastern Star, Middleton. Bill was an adherent of
Aylesford United Church. Bill's family always came first but next was his
passion for golf. He also enjoyed his time spent playing pool with his friends
on Mondays at the Legion. Bill was also a great supporter of the Red Hat
Valley Bloomers. He was often referred to as Pierre La Rouge. Bill will always
be remembered for his sense of humour which he managed to retain through to
the end of his illness. Left to mourn his passing is his loving wife of 48
years, Lois (Daye) Field; his devoted sons, Terry and his wife Donna Field,
Belleville, Ont.; David Field and his companion Hannah of Seoul, South Korea;
his much loved grandson, Christopher; granddaughters, Jennifer and Dannielle;

least, his best friend and companion, Riley, who kept faithful diligence to
his master while he was ill at home. Bill was predeceased by his dad, William
