THEY SHALL GROW NOT OLD AS WE
THAT ARE LEFT GROW OLD;
AGE SHALL NOT WEARY THEM NOR
THE YEARS CONDEMN.
AT THE GOING DOWN OF THE SUN
AND IN THE MORNING,
WE WILL REMEMBER THEM.

COMRADE ARCHIE GAUDET
GAUDET, John Archibald ArchieGAUDET, John Archibald Archie -
58, Kingston. It is with tremendous sadness that we announce the passing of
our beloved Archie, on Monday, November 19, 2007, in Soldiers' Memorial
Hospital in Middleton. Born in St. Nicholas, P.E.I., on May 6,
1949, he was a son of the late Martin and Ursula (Poirier) Gaudet. Archie
joined the Canadian Forces in 1970 as a vehicle technician and after 29
years of dedicated service in both Canada and abroad he retired at CFB
Greenwood in 1999. After a brief retirement Archie was back in the work
force in May of 2000, employed by Joy-el Investments-Army Surplus Warehouse
in Aylesford. He was a kind person with a big heart who loved and lived his
life to the fullest and will be fondly remembered for his quick wit and
sense of humour. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 098 in
Kingston where he served as Sergeant at Arms, Property and Entertainment
Chairman over the years. He could always be counted upon by the Branch and his friends to give a helping hand to others
whether it was shingling homes, building wheelchair ramps or piling wood.
Archie accepted his illness with grace and dignity and continued to help
others until hospitalized three weeks ago. Left to celebrate his life are
his common-law spouse and best friend, Pat Grantham, Kingston; his sons,
Chris (Jennifer Lockwood), Kingston; Darren (Angela) Gaudet, Stellarton,
their mother Gail Gaudet, Greenwood, and her parents Elmer and Corina Gaudet,
Miscouche, P.E.I. He is also lovingly remembered by his granddaughter,
Sydney Gaudet; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; lovingly
remembered and survived by his brothers and sisters, James (Coleen), St.
Nicholas, P.E.I.; Thelma Gaudet, Edmonton, Alta.; Danny (Judy), Miscouche,

Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside, where visitation will take place on
