THE HOLTEN CANADIAN WAR CEMETERY
CHRISTMAS 2007

For those who are not aware of it, in Holten (The Netherlands) all of the school children in one particular grade are each assigned one grave, belonging to a Canadian Serviceman who perished in WW2.

On Christmas Eve around 11 PM, the children go to their assigned graves, light a candle, and leave it to burn there while they attend Christmas Midnight Mass.

Considering that it has now been over 60 years since Holland was Liberated from the Nazis this is particularly special and heartwarming!!!

This cemetery is located near Arnem.
